Have you ever lost your keys, or forgotten where you’ve put them? Of course you have. We’ve all done it from time to time. With technology evolving the way it is, and just about everyone has a smartphone (you’ve never lost your smartphone now have you?), you had to have known that sooner or later there would be something to help you find your keys. Well here’s iKeyFinder. It’s a brand new product (and we’re giving away a few). It basically connects to your phone via Bluetooth, but only uses the connection when you are looking for your keys which is great. It has a built in USB port so you can charge the device off of your laptop or even the charging brick you have for your phone.
It’s a very simple set up. You’ll need to download the free iKeyFinder app from the Play Store (or if you own an iOS device, the App Store). The app isn’t the prettiest, but it does get the job done, which is simply to connect and find your keys. Once you’ve opened the app, you’ll see “Connect” “Locate Key” and “Info”. You’ll need to select Connect which will ask you if you want to turn on Bluetooth if it’s not already on. Once it’s connected you can then press “Locate Key” and your keys will start ringing. It’s pretty simple and simply a life saver.
While I’ve been reviewing it, I actually lost my keys on purpose to see how hard or easy it was to find them with the iKeyFinder. When your keys start ringing, it is nice and loud and easy to find your keys. Adding this accessory onto your keyring doesn’t really add much weight onto your keys, but unless you only have one key, you probably won’t care anyways.
The iKeyFinder is available on their website and it costs about $40 (at the time of writing this). But if you’re always losing your keys, this is definitely something you’ll want to get. I’ve loved having it on my keyring, and now I don’t have to worry about losing my keys.
