The LG G2 is already launched on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. It’ll be launching on Sprint next month. CNET is reporting this evening that a truck headed to Louisville, KY with about 22,500 phones have been stolen. These phones were stolen at about 6:30pm on Thursday at a truck stop in Gary, Indiana, according to an LG representative. The driver left the truck to go to the bathroom and upon returning found the vehicle missing.
Both the Indiana and Illinois state police have been contacted as well as the FBI. The G2 is LG’s flagship device, and has definitely stood out in the market. It’s also one of my favorite phones of 2013. WIth it’s rear-facing buttons and amazing camera. It’s definitely one of the best phones of the year. It’s a very controversial phone, but I’m quite happy to see how great the early adoption has been for the G2.
Similar to the other flagships out there like the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5S and HTC One, the LG G2 launched on all the carriers. Well except for Sprint, but it’s landing on Sprint next month, as long as LG can find these phones that have gone missing. It’s surprising to see all these phones get stolen that quickly. Either someone set this up, or the driver was in the bathroom for a long time. Well it could be a bit of both. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of these phones show up on Craigslist and eBay soon for sale. So you’ll want to be careful and make sure you’re not buying a stolen phone.
Hopefully the authorities can find these devices so LG and Sprint can sell them and continue chipping away at Samsung’s market share. I’m really looking forward to seeing LG and Samsung get into a tough battle with their phones and tablets.
