TELUS Acquiring 100% of Public Mobile
In a press release issued this week, it looks like TELUS is going to be acquiring all of Public MObile. Back in 2008, Public Mobile invested about $52 million on the once-unwanted G-Band spectrum between Windsor and Quebec City. The carrier launched their service in Toronto and Montreal “value consious Canadian consumers”. Public Mobiel currently has about 280,000 wireless subscribers.
“TELUS has committed to keeping on all of our existing employees at close. While there will be a transition period, the longer term plan is to fully integrate the operations of Public Mobile into TELUS… While Public Mobile will not continue as a stand-alone entity, you will have an opportunity to find a place to grow and enhance your career within TELUS.”
