HTC One Gets Android 4.3 Update on C Spire
Managing to beat out both T-Mobile and Verizon, C Spire is treating customers to the Android 4.3 update on their HTC Ones. This will update your software version to 2.04.563.3 and it doesn’t bring with it many improvements besides Android 4.3. However, given how slow HTC have moved in the past, getting this update at all is a bonus. C Spire users can get info on how to get the update here.

Maintenance Update Hits Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z Ultra
The Xperia Z1 and the Z Ultra have recently gone on sale in the US and Sony is now issuing maintenance updates for the devices. According to Sony, they’ve been listening to some of the feedback they’ve been getting as the devices hit shelves. Both the Z1 and the Z Ultra are getting the same tweaks, with some device-specific ones. In the words of Sony themselves, this is what to expect:
For Xperia Z1, we’ve…
- tweaked the camera algorithm for even better all round performance
- refined Sony’s Smart Social Camera platform, so Xperia Camera apps run more smoothly (particularly Burst Mode, Superior Auto, AR Effect and Sweep Panorama…)
For Xperia Z Ultra, we’ve…
- optimized touchscreen sensitivity, for both finger gestures and writing / sketching with pencils, metal pens and selected styluses
And then across both products, we’ve…
- re-calibrated the display ever so slightly, to ensure viewing experiences remain bright & bold
- economised power consumption for longer battery life
- streamlined Exchange connection for faster email sync, display and download
Verizon Updates Their Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 With Added Features
The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 may be aging but, that doesn’t mean that Verizon has forgotten about it – surprisingly. This new update brings Apps to SD support, pre-loads the Verizon Messaging app and adds Ethernet support. Hang on a minute – Ethernet support on a tablet?! Yeah, you’ll need an adapter of course but, it’s definitely a nice feature to have and might make this more use around the office.
Samsung Start Rollout of Android 4.3 for the Galaxy S4
Samsung announced that the Galaxy S4 would be getting the update to Android 4.3 in the Fall and it looks like they’ve just pulled the trigger on this particular update. It seems to be rolling out in Europe right now, and only on the GT-I9505 versions of the device but, this is good news as an American release shouldn’t be too far behind, after all Samsung now has a pretty decent track record when it comes to keeping their devices up-to-date. You can read more about the update here.
