AT&T is looking to sell some Galaxy Tab 3’s by offering them to subscribers for free when they purchase a select Samsung smartphone this holiday season. Those smartphones include the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy Note 3, and the Galaxy Note 2 on contract. Starting today, you’ll be able to grab a Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch for free. You’ll have to either sign a contract or jump onto AT&T’s NEXT early upgrade installment plan. You can’t buy one of these at full price and get the Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch for free, unfortunately. The deal is currently available at participating AT&T stores, and I’d expect those to mostly be their own stores and not third-party stores. AT&T will also be adding this deal to their website very shortly, according to the carrier. So if you’re interested, you won’t have to stop by an AT&T store.
This Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch is the same one that Sprint is currently selling for $50 that can get you a $5 plan for 25MB per month. Which still isn’t bad. And it seems to be the easiest way for Samsung to sell the 3G/4G LTE versions of this tablet. As it’s definitely not a high-end tablet, but it is more than capable. Then again, what other tablet can you get mobile data on that will be free? Kinda hard to find one of those around.
AT&T’s press release that the promotion will last until January 9th, 2014. So it’ll be lasting throughout the holiday season. Hopefully we’ll see more of these deals for the holiday season. Like possibly a deal on the Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition? I know they’d sell a boat load of those if they priced it at free or even $100 when someone buys a Galaxy Note 3.
