Looks like Sony’s not done announcing phones for 2013. They’ve already announced the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1F. All of which are relatively high-end devices. Now our favorite leaker, evleaks has posted a press image of the Xperia Z1S which is supposedly getting announced sometime this year. Well that leaves them roughly 2 months to announce it. Basically this is what Evleaks said in his tweet “Sony Xperia Z1S, 2013” which to me means it’s coming this year.

Of course there’s no word on specs just yet, but as you can tell from the picture, it’s probably another 5-inch device with on-screen navigation. Sony is one of the few manufacturers to use on-screen navigation, which is nice to see. What’s interesting about this press render is that there is a “4G LTE” logo in the status bar, and it actually looks like it’s T-Mobile’s 4G LTE icon. Yes, all four carriers have a slightly different LTE icon that’s on every one of their devices. It would be awesome to see this one hitting the US, especially on a carrier since Sony has said they are not focusing on the US market right now. We’ll have to keep our eye on this one.

If Sony is planning to bring this one out this year, they are going to want to announce it in the next couple of weeks. That way it can hit store shelves before the holiday season. Since that’s when manufacturers want to get their phones out there for everyone to buy. I’d expect plenty more leaks of this one in the next few days, even though Sony has put up posters at their headquarters to not leak stuff, it’ll still leak. Whether it be by mistake or intentional.

How many of you would be interested in the Xperia Z1S?
