This evening, Lenovo has taken the wraps off of two new Yoga tablets. Both are running Android 4.2 and are pretty cheap. The 8-inch one is sporting some nice specs, nothing too crazy like the Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition or the Nexus 10. But it’s adequate, especially for the price. Here’s the spec sheet.

So as you can see from the specs listed above, it’s not a spectacular tablet but it is pretty good for the price. Lenovo is going to be offering this one for $249. But there’s more. There’s a unique multimode design which has three usage modes. You can have it standing up, laying down with the back elevated a bit or just flat. Kinda like the way the Surface is supposed to work. Lenovo is touting up to 18 hours of battery life in the reading mode. Which is quite nice. Compared to the Nexus 7 (2013) which has a 3950mAh battery this 8-inch Yoga with a 6000mAh battery should last quite a while.
As far as availability goes, Lenovo says that the Yoga 8 will be available on October 30th at Best Buy stores and through Lenovo’s website. As mentioned previously, it’ll be available for $249, which I think is almost the perfect price for this tablet. Sure I’d like to see it a bit cheaper, since the Nexus 7 is $229 and does have better specs, not to mention it’ll have KitKat soon. But it’s definitely a better tablet, at least on paper, then some of the other Nexus 7 competitors out there.
