The folks over at Liliputing have found the Lenovo IdeaPad A10 floating around and it appears to be a convertible running Android. Now we’ve seen Lenovo create some convertibles before, like the Yoga (which I really liked, but have never used) that run Windows. But now it looks like they’ve created one running on Android. I’m assuming it’s Android 4.2 or 4.3, although I don’t know for sure yet. It also looks to be heavily skinned, which we’ll wait until it’s official to bash the skin. As far as the other specs go, here’s what we are looking at:
- 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3188 CPU
- 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display
- 1GB or 2GB of RAM
- 16GB or 32GB of storage
- 2 USB 2.0 ports
- micro USB port
- microSD card slot
- combo mic/headset jack
- stereo speakers
- built-in mic
- HDMI port
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- 0.3MP camera
- 22.6 Whr battery
Of course since it is a netbook, there is a full physical QWERTY keyboard on dock. There’s also some special Android function keys along the top. Which include back, home, setting and the app menu. There are already some nice Android hybrids on the market. One that comes to mind is the ASUS Transformer, which they actually just announced a few of those last month. Remember that this isn’t official yet, but since we have press images, I suspect it’s only a matter of time before it is. Although it is rather disappointing to see a 1366×768 resolution display on a 10-inch tablet these days. Where’s the HD, Lenovo? I’d also like to see more internal storage. Then there’s also that Rockchip CPU. That’s a company I haven’t heard of before, maybe some of you have, which if you have leave us a comment below. So I’m not too sure on this one, but I like the idea.
How many of you would buy the IdeaTab A10? I’d have to give it a long look, and see what the pricing is before I decide.
