For a while, the Android Netflix app has felt like it was somewhat neglected. Well that was until v3.0 dropped. The new version of Netflix looks really nice and features the Action bar, and a slide-out navigation that we all love. This new version of the Netflix app looks great on both tablets and phones, and is rolling out very slowly. Oh how we love staged rollouts. Never fear, we’ve got the APK so you can enjoy the update now.
Now when you scroll within the app, it can actually scroll. Unlike in the older version of Netflix. You also have the slide-out navigation which we are seeing pop up in more and more apps nowadays. It’s in apps like Google+, Facebook (kind of), Google Play Music, and many others. There’s also the action bar, which means no more of that menu button showing up at the bottom of your screen, if you’re using a Nexus device. So the Netflix app has sorta gone holo but not quite.
Additionally, with Chromecast, the app is even more smoother and nicer to interact with Chromecast. Which is always a great thing to hear. The lock screen playback control no longer takes over the entire screen, and it actually occupies a spot like any other lock screen widget. Along with the in-app remote function which has also been cleaned up a bit.
So now you can enjoy more content on your phone, tablet or Chromecast with a much nicer experience. I’ve gotta say this is a huge improvement over the previous version of the app. Like we stated already, we have the apk down below for those that don’t want to wait on the staged rollout to hit your device. How many of you use Netflix constantly on one or more of your devices? Let us know in the comments below.
