At this point, you would imagine that everything there is to know about the Nexus 5 is out there for all to see. Well, in most cases that’s true however, one of the key aspects of the Nexus line still remains a mystery to us; until now. Pricing for both models of the Nexus 5 have seemingly leaked out and if you were unhappy with both the storage and battery options of last year, prepare to be excited.
An anonymous tipster has given PhoneArena information on what could be pricing for the two models of the Nexus 5. Apparently, the Nexus 5 16GB model will be shipping with a 2,300 mAh Battery for $299. Meanwhile, there’s a beefier option for $399, which gets you 32GB of Storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. This is a change from last year’s offering from LG that came in either 8 or 16GB flavors for $299 or $349, respectively. Last year’s Nexus however, disappointed a lot of users thanks to its 2,100 mAh battery. When the user manual leaked and gave us what we thought was all the device’s secrets, similar disappointment was seen at the 2,300 mAh cell in the Nexus 5.
What with this info coming from an “anonymous source” it’s hard to tell how valid the info is. However, this does seem like something Google would do. After all, they want to sell devices at an attractive price but, the search giant is constantly lamenting about poor battery life. They missed the mark with their own flagship last year so maybe this year, they’re giving users the option to get the smartphone they wanted and to offer the battery life they want.
Meanwhile, there shouldn’t be too much longer a wait to see the Nexus 5 go live on the web. Just when that is however, seems to be up in the air but, we have a feeling that later this month, a lot of you will be hitting “refresh” frantically in a bid to get your hands on the new Nexus.
