Could T-Mobile Be Announcing a "Data Passport" with Free Global Data in 100 Countries Tonight in Uncarrier Phase 3?

This evening T-Mobile’s top exec’s will be taking the stage in NYC to show off the next phase in the Uncarrier revolution. We already know Shakira will be there as the ambassador or something like that. The fun goes down at 8:15pm EDT. I personally can’t wait to see what John Legere says about the competition next.

Thanks to a Shakira Facebook fansite, we may already have seen the plan for tonight. As you can see in the image above, it looks like the next step is free global data at no extra charge. Of course this image doesn’t give us any details, but it does reference “Now your data plan has a passport”. So they may call it a data passport.

While this probably doesn’t seem like a big deal to many of you, it really is a big deal. Especially for those that travel. If you think capped data is expensive here in the US, imagine how it is when you’re roaming in other countries. It’s pretty crazy. The roaming rates here are pretty bad too. Like 100MB for $50, or along those lines. T-Mobile actually has the worst plan if you’re visiting the US from another country, so we may see them introduce some new plans tonight for our international visitors. But I’m willing to bet this isn’t all T-Mobile will announce tonight.

Remember this is still unconfirmed, as with all the other rumors we’ve seen regarding Phase 3 of the uncarrier. But we should know everything in the next 5 hours or so. Which means you’ll want to stay tuned to Android Headlines as we’ll be covering it as always. Some of the other rumors we’ve heard is that T-Mobile is getting rid of security deposits for new customers, and they are expanding their coverage very quickly. We’ll have to see if those rumors pan out tonight.

How many of you would love to have unlimited roaming data when you are out of the country? I know I would since Canada is so close to me, I go over there all the time.
