Amazon Giving us 15% off the Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HDX Today Only – To Celebrate the FAA

Last week, the FAA made a decision that made a lot of us happy. Instead of having to turn off all our electronics during take off and landing. We can now continue to use them during take off and landing while travelling now. Amazon has decided to celebrate that decision today, with a sale that is good today-only on their Kindle Fire tablets (original Kindle is included too). They are offering the Kindle Fire HD, and Kindle Fire HDX for 15% off today. That puts the Kindle Fire HD at $118 instead of $139 and the Kindle Fire HDX at $95 instead of $229. All you have to do at checkout is enter the promo code “ThnksFAA” to receive your 15% off.

The Kindle Fire HD is last years model, while the Kindle Fire HDX just launched a couple of weeks ago. Remember that the Kindle Fire tablets are not running Android as we all know it. It’s running a forked version of Android which works as a front-door to Amazon’s store. Which is pretty smart on Amazon’s behalf and the reason why they sell their tablets so cheap. They think that selling you a Kindle Fire will get you to use their services more, which to them is worth more than making a profit off of a tablet. Makes sense right?

Both the Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HDX have amazing specs for the price. The Kindle Fire HDX is offering a 2560×1600 resolution display along with a Snapdragon 800. All for under $200, not bad in my opinion. If you’ve been holding out to purchase the Kindle Fire HDX or the Kindle Fire HD until it was a bit cheaper, now is your chance. Of course if you’re waiting on the Kindle Fire HD to drop lower, I’m not sure you really want a tablet since it was already under $150.
