Currently, Amazon is started sending out invites to select customers to try out their Kindle Fire HDX, which is their latest version of their tablet, for 30 days. But these 30 day free-trials aren’t just for the Kindle Fire HDX, it’s also available for the Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 among others. Amazon is shipping the chosen tablet to the customer free of charge. After which the customer will have 30 days to decide if they want to keep it or send it back. If the customer does not send back the tablet or e-reader, Amazon will charge the customers credit card for the amount of the device.
For as long as I can remember, Amazon has offered a 30-day return policy on Kindles, but what’s different about this is that the customer’s credit card isn’t charged initially. When you return the device, you’ve already paid for it, and you’re waiting for a refund. This idea seems to be much better. Especially for those that are not sure if they want to keep the device or not.
Right now, Amazon (much like Google) does not have a retail presence. So it can be hard to sell their devices, especially to those “general” consumers that aren’t reading our site everyday to learn about the Kindle Fire and other tablets out there. But just about everyone knows about Amazon, which means doing a 30-day free trial should definitely help drive more sales. In fact, Amazon has already launched their MayDay service on the Kindle Fire HDX, which is set to take on Apple’s Genius Bar support system in every Apple store.
