Now that we are seeing more and more devices with the transparent status bar, thanks to KitKat, I’ve been starting to look for more colorful and nicer wallpapers for my devices. Now don’t think that Blur is a wallpaper app because it isn’t. It basically allows you to take a wallpaper and blur the colors. Seems pretty easy right? Well it really is. And quite honestly, they look really nice in my opinion. You basically just open up the app, choose your wallpaper, then crop it and blur the wallpaper as much or as little as you want. There is a free and paid version of the app. Of course the paid version doesn’t have ads, but does have adjust colors.
So what are some of the other features of Blur? Well you can adjust the blur in real time, adjust colors, simple and easy to crop and recrop tools, instantly set your wallpaper, save the wallpaper to your library, you can also load images from the gallery as well as Google+ photos. There’s not much to the app, but there really doesn’t need to be. It’s a fairly new app and has been making the rounds this week, so I thought I’d share it with everyone. I have it installed right now on my Nexus 5 to blur different wallpapers I find, that I want to add my own taste too.
Blur is a pretty light-weight app, it weighs in at about 5.4MB. It’s also brand new, it’s only sitting at version 1.02 and all the updates so far have been bug fixes, so it’s great to see the developer still working on the app. The paid version of Blur is $0.99, and I think it’s well worth it. You’re definitely going to want to check this one out.
