Facebook Beta Brings Home Features to the Main App

This week, Facebook’s latest beta version of their app was updated and brought a few of the features from Facebook Home over to their main Android app. Which includes live wallpaper support. If you want to check out the beta version of Facebook, you’ll have to sign up for their beta program here.

Twitter for Android Gets updated Search Options

This week, Twitter also updated their app for Android and iOS. The updated adds search filters, and the ability to toggle between top tweets and all tweets as well as trends and event timelines. This update is available for both beta and stable versions of the app. Especially since Twitter has pretty much abandoned their beta version of the app in favor of their alpha version.

Dropbox hits v2.3.11

THis week, Dropbox got a nice update to version 2.3.11 and brings a new logo along with a few other features. It also includes Notification History, Direct sharing with contacts and more.

Google Drive updated with Tools to manage your files better

Google also updated their Google Drive app this week with some new tools for power users who are using Drive. With the update, Google is pushing features that are available on the desktop, and making it even easier to edit documents on the fly without needing to install a separate app like QuickOffice.

Apex Launcher 2.2 Beta Adds Translucent nav and status bars on KitKat

If you’re on KitKat, you’ve probably stuck to the stock launcher if you fancy the translucent navigation and status bars like myself. Nova now has that feature in their beta, and Apex has joined the club as well with their v2.2 beta of their launcher. You can join Apex’s beta group here.

SoundCloud updated to version 2.7

SoundCloud was updated to Version 2.7 this week which brought a long a pretty nice redesign. It now has a redesigned side menu, as well as new explore feature for discovering music and much more.

What’s new:

  • Brand new Explore feature: discover trending music & audio

  • Cleaner, simpler design with a new side menu for the most-used functions

  • Who to follow, activity, record, and settings are now accessible from the options menu

DirecTV App Also Updated

DirecTV updated their app to include remote control functionality this week as well. Here’s the full changelog:
