Download: Android 4.4 – KRT16S for the Google Nexus 10

The last Nexus device to get the official update from Google to Android 4.4 – KitKat is the Samsung Nexus 10 which was released last year. The Nexus 10 is by far still my favorite tablet, with it’s amazing 2560×1600 resolution display and it’s incredibly light. Not to mention the thing lasts forever. Similar to the Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 OTA files we posted yesterday, we’ve got the OTA file straight from Google’s servers for you to download (we’ve also got a mirror in case Google has issues).

It’s pretty easy to flash this update as well. Just like with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7’s yesterday. You can adb sideload the file without losing any data. Of course, you’ll need to have the Android SDK installed to do that. Alternatively, you can just go ahead and flash the file through a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM, but I’d recommend the adb sideload method instead. As flashing through a custom recovery isn’t always working. But it does work in most cases.

Beware that if you are running Jelly Bean, updating to KitKat will have a few things missing. Like the Google Experience Launcher, which is a Nexus 5 exclusive right now. Who knows why, it could be a hardware limitation but who knows. You’re also not getting the translucent status and navigation bars. Which for me was one of the biggest features in Android 4.4. Yes, I love the subtle things. There’s a few other small things that you probably won’t be getting either, but you will be getting better battery life. Oh wait, I forgot this is the Nexus 10, that battery almost never dies.

If you’re brave enough to sideload the OTA go ahead, and let us know how it works out for you in the comments down below. We’d love to hear how this works out for everyone and what everyone thinks of KitKat.
