Google Makes Finding, Booking, and Paying For Hotels Easier

Ever been in the car or out somewhere talking with your wife, girlfriend, or a total stranger and decide that maybe the two of you should get away together and want to book a hotel, before that moment passes.  Thanks to Google, you no longer have to run back to your computer, let your mobile phone do all the work, after all, it’s supposed to be so smart!  Hotel Finder now makes it easier to book that hotel room right from your phone, as the desktop version now has a mobile-ready site – and the best deals are even highlighted in green.

On your phone, go to www.google.com/hotels (and make sure you bookmark the site) and there you can search by your destination; and once there, you can search further by:

  • Price
  • Hotel Class
  • User Rating
  • Distance

Once you select the hotel, you can see more photos, amenities, reviews, and even its location on Google Maps – all can be accessed on one page, and if you see a Hotel you like…save it for comparing with a few possibilities. Once you are sure what hotel you want, simply book it with any of Google’s booking partners.

To make it ultra-convenient for you, you can complete this entire transaction by paying for your reservation with Google Wallet – you just knew they had to sneak that option in there.  Just look for the “Buy with Google” icon for a booking partner that accepts Google Wallet for payment.  If you do not have a Google Wallet account, no problem – just enter the payment details once, and Google Wallet will conveniently save the information for you so you will not have to re-enter it each time you use Google Wallet.  If you want to download Google Wallet and set it up before hand, click here:

Hotel Finder is available to use for more than 100 countries, although the Google Wallet payment option is only currently available in the U.S., but Google hopes to expand very soon.  If you want to learn more about Hotel Finder, click HERE.  Hopefully, Google will come out with a simple app so you do not have to visit the site via the browser, but simply click on an icon and it will take you directly to the site, or if you use a launcher, you could setup a shortcut.

Let us know in the comments or on Google+ if you use Google’s site to book your trips and if you have tried the new mobile site and what you think about it.
