With the introduction of Android’s latest delicious dessert, KitKat (Android 4.4), also comes a slew of new Google Now commands. The personal assistant allows Google Experience Launcher (GEL) users to truly enjoy a hands-free experience by uttering the home screen command, “Okay, Google,” or if you are feeling a bit more geeky, “Okay, Jarvis.” The new Google Search update (version 3.1.8) is available to anyone running Android 4.1 or higher, however, launching Google Now from your home screen requires GEL. Unfortunately, GEL is only native to the Nexus 5; all others will have to install it via the APK released by Android Police. Of course Google has documented a list of voice commands we can use to control our daily lives, but the bulk of commands are left for the community to discover on their own.
