Google Opening Pop-Up Shops for the Holiday Season To Show Off their Products

If there’s one thing that Apple has over Google, it’s the in-store presence. As much as I dislike Apple, I have to say their stores are pretty awesome. They all do look the same, but the staff in there is pretty knowledgeable about their products. Well as knowledgeable as the staff at any carrier store, or Bestbuy. Google has started putting up displays in Bestbuys, but it looks like they are looking to open up some pop up shops for the holiday season. They won’t be opening up everywhere though, unfortunately.

The company is going to be setting up shop in what appears to be like a tent. They’ll be displaying Google’s latest products like the Nexus 7, Nexus 5, Chromecast and the newest line of Chromebooks. Google is calling them Winter Wonderlabs, and they will be located in several cities around the country including Los Angeles, Chicago, Sacremento, Washington D.C., and Paramus, NJ. I wish they’d show Detroit some love. I’d love to check out the Winter Wonderlabs.

As expected, the stores will be winter themed, and one is said to have a giant snow globe that you can go inside, what’s even more interesting is that it will shoot slow motion video of you jumping around inside, with CGI snow surrounding you. Sounds pretty awesome to me. We’re expecting that this might be some build-up for that mystery barge sitting in the San Francisco Bay, which everyone seems to have a theory about. Or it could be to get more people interested in their products. Which definitely sounds plausible.

What’s interesting, and probably not too surprising, is that Google Glass won’t be shown off at these pop-up shops. I’m definitely hoping that these little pop-up shops will do well and get Google to get serious about opening some Google stores. I’d love to work at a Google Store, of course I know so much about their products, I’d probably be the best fit. How many of you are excited to check out the Winter Wonderlabs?
