Download: Google Search 3.1.8 Rolling Out, Brings New Cards, Google Experience to All Android 4.1 Devices

There’s a pretty large Google Search update rolling out right now. This one is version 3.1.8 and has the one feature we’ve all been waiting on and hoping would hit the Play Store. And that is the Google Experience Launcher! Here’s the full changelog, and it’s a long one:

Google Now brings you the right information at the right time, and today we’re adding some new cards that tap into the richness and comprehensiveness of the web, putting it at your fingertips in a new and unique way.

If you’re a fan of a particular blog, the Website update card can bring you things like the latest post so you’ll never miss a story, and the News topic card brings you fresh articles from the web on topics you care about. The What to watch card gives you Movie and TV recommendations when you’re staying in.

There are a few other great additions in Google Now with today’s update: you can see traffic incidents on your commute using real-time data from Waze, set repeat reminders, get real time scores for rugby teams, and also see when your packages are ready for in-store pickup.

So now we’ve got Google Experience Launcher for everyone, that’s running Android 4.1 and above, which is basically everyone that uses Google Now. It’s a pretty big update, and we’ve got the APK thanks to Android Police, so huge shout out to them. You can install this just like any other APK, just make sure Unknown Sources is checked and install it. It will replace your existing Google Search app which is pretty much expected. It’s nice to see the Google Experience Launcher making it’s way to more devices, I’ve been loving it on the Nexus 5 for the past week, and on the Nexus 4 before that. Be sure to let us know what you think of it in the comments down below.
