Earlier this year, around June, we had heard that another company would be setting up shop to make smartphones. Normally this would garner a “meh” reaction, but the reason why this is a big deal is because this company, Kazam, was made up of former HTC executives who have branched out on their own. Since then, we’ve been curious to see what the company would come up with.
Today, they’ve announced seven new phones. They are ranging from 3.5-inch displays to 5.5-inch displays. All with different specs as well.
Thunder Q4.5 and Q5.0

“Today’s announcement proves that Kazam is not about gimmicks or corporate bullshit, but delivering real value, by taking a fresh approach to mobile,” said chief marketing officer James Atkins.
None of these are really all that exciting. The specs are pretty low-end but that might be a good place to start for a brand new company. But what’s interesting is that these are all dual-SIM devices, which is popular in Asia. They also all come with Kazam warranties for the screen for a year, so even if you damage the display even if it’s your fault, Kazam will replace it for free. Sounds good to me.
It’ll be interesting to see some high-end devices coming from Kazam. Hopefully they’ll show some off soon, perhaps at CES in January.
