Kindle Fire HDX Owners Can "Create Their Own" Cases With Their Own Pictures

It seems that everywhere you look, customization seems to be the buzzword of the day. For years you could make customized greeting cards for the holidays, and of course, the coffee mugs, or photo albums – we could always buy the bling-bling cases for our cellphones, and then Motorola even allowed us to customize the device itself with their Moto X, using MotoMaker and choosing colored cases, trim, and buttons. Well Amazon is taking this customization idea and applying it their Kindle HDX tablets – a really good idea since the Kindle is a personal type device, like curling up to read a good book, the device lends itself to you.

Amazon’s Kindle has always come in a variety of colored cases, but never a customizable one that you could actually have your own pictures imprinted on the case. Rather than have you purchase a custom case somewhere other than Amazon, you can now get that product directly from Amazon.  The option comes with the new Origami cases for the Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HDX, and the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, and the prices range from $54.99 for the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Origami case down to only $16.99 for the Kindle Paperwhite case.  You can have them apply your design to either the front, back, or even both sides if you would like – only on the polyurethane cases, and this option is not available on the leather cases. The process is really quite simple and with this customization process you can either upload your own photo or choose from Amazon’s library of  images, logos, designs and patterns:

The Origami case is more than just a pretty face – it provides full front and back protection and they secure magnetically, making it easy to attach or remove. It also allows you hand-free use by providing a built-in stand for either horizontal or vertical viewing. When you close the case it will automatically put your Kindle to “sleep,” and “wakes” it up when you open the cover.  The Origami case even has an exclusive Camera Ready feature – simply slide your Kindle HDX 8.9 up in the case and the camera automatically turns on, allowing for a quick snapshot.

Let us know in the comments or on Google+ if you will be customizing your Kindle HD with one of these Origami cases, or do you prefer your Kindle in the raw? Remember, they make a great Christmas gift as well. You can purchase these cases for your 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDZ on Amazon.
