Back in September, Nvidia launched their Tegra Note 7 and finally, November 12, it will be released to the U.S. market for only $199 and then be available in the U.K. market a few days later for 179 pounds. The specifications are great for a tablet in this price range and with the features that are built-in to the device. The specs are listed below:
- Processor – Tegra 4 mobile processor with quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce GPU
- Display – 7-inch HD IPS LCD display (1280 x 800)
- Camera – Rear 5 MP and front VGA (.3MP) webcam
- Ram – 1GB
- Storage – 16 GB storage with micro SD expandable up to an additional 32 GB
- Audio – Front facing “HD Audio” stereo speakers with a unique bass-reflex port
- DirectStylus – Chisel and Brush tips for natural writing and broad strokes
- Peripherals – Micro HDMI connector to drive big screen TV videos and gaming
- OS – Pure Android 4.2, with promised OTA software updates
- Battery Life – 10 hours HD video playback
What really shines on this new tablet, besides the price, is that it comes with its own Stylus (DirectStylus) and it even stores in its own silo on the device, much like Samsung’s own Galaxy Note series. They claim that with their stylus you have great control with its pressure sensitive tip and the supplied software is also very reminiscent of the Galaxy Note – when you remove your stylus on the Nvidia Tegra Note 7, up pops a list of commands that you can use with your stylus.
When you think of Nvidia, you naturally think of gaming, and you will not be let down in that department, with an optional Bluetooth gaming controller, you will be able to play your favorite games, with the speed, smoothness, and clarity that you expect for a great gaming experience and the terrific sound from its stereo speakers. This is quite a tablet for only $199 and should prove a worthy adversary to the Nexus 7 – it certainly does not have all the specs of the Nexus 7, but it may make up for it if you like to use a stylus or S-Pen on your tablet.
