This morning, during the Moto G announcement, Motorola’s CEO Dennis Woodside stated that the Moto X would be getting Android 4.4 – KitKat within a few weeks. Then a few hours later, some users were getting emails about a new soak test. These soak test invites were only sent out to those that own a Moto X, so no Droid Ultra, Mini or Maxx love just yet. I’m not 100% sure that it’s KitKat, but it could be. And I know that would make a ton of Moto X users happy, especially since Google just started rolling out KitKat to the Nexus and Nexus 10 last night, while the Nexus 4 still doesn’t have the update.
For those interested, here’s the email being sent to Moto X owners that are part of the Motorola Feedback Network:

We’ll have to keep an eye out on this update to see what exactly it is, but it seems like it could be anything. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for some KitKat love, but don’t get your hopes up just yet.
