It’s almost CES season, which begins the busiest part of the year for us here at Android Headlines. We’ve got CES in Las Vegas the first week of January, then in February is Mobile World Congress. Usually between January and the end of March we get a good handful of flagship devices. Usually from the likes of Sony, HTC and Samsung. CES usually doesn’t have a whole lot of hardware announced there, it’s more for accessories and such. Although I expect a lot of smartwatches there this year.
Today, ASUS has been sending out invites to members of the press for an event that’s taking place on January 6th. Which is their CES press conference. They are also promising to show off something “incredible”. Which ASUS usually does, in fact I think the first Transformer was shown off at CES a number of years ago. I know the Transformer Prime was. So what exactly does ASUS have up its’ sleeve? Who knows. But there was a rumor this morning that the Padfone Mini is heading to a “big US operator” in 2014. So it’s likely we could see the Padfone Mini, alongside some other devices. I’d love to see a few more tablets and even a great flagship phone from ASUS. As they aren’t really known for smartphones, just tablets and PCs. Hopefully we’ll see a nice smartphone from ASUS. Although knowing how much ASUS loves NVIDIA, it’ll probably have the Tegra 4 processor inside, if it is indeed a phone.
So ASUS is coming to CES, January 6th is the date. We’ll be covering their event as well as all the other pressers going on in the two days before CES as always. Technically, CES doesn’t start until Tuesday, January 7th. But we all know that they have the media day on the 6th and there are even more press conferences on that Sunday, January 5th. So if you’re interested in what’s going on at CES, make sure to stay tuned to Android Headlines.
