Download: Android 4.4.2 Rolling out to the Google Nexus 5

Well we saw earlier from an infamous HTC tipper that the HTC One GPe is getting Android 4.4.2 very soon. Now it looks like the Nexus 5 is getting Android 4.4.2 right now. We’ve got the link for those that want to sideload it. If you don’t know how to sideload it, we’ve got the instructions. So far we don’t know what exactly is new in here yet, but it looks like it’s a pretty minor update, seeing as the Android 4.4.1 OTA just started rolling out last week.

To sideload the update, simply make sure you’ve got the SDK installed and open a command prompt inside the sdk/platform-tools folder. Then type in “adb devices”. This will tell you if you’re phone is being detected by your device. If it is detected, then type in “adb reboot bootloader” once you’ve rebooted then use the volume and power buttons to get to the recovery and boot into recovery. Next choose the “apply update from ADB” and go back to your computer and type “adb sideload <filename.zip>” and a few minutes later you should have Android 4.4.2 on your Nexus 5. Of course, those that want to wait for the OTA, feel free to do that as well.

If you have any issues sideloading the OTA to your device, feel free to leave a comment down below and we’ll do our best to help you out.
