Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Game Edition Appears in Europe, Bundles GamePad Controller

When Samsung announced the GamePad, their very own controller for Android smartphones and tablets we were wondering just what else Samsung could do with such a product and now, we’ve been answered. In Germany, a Galaxy Tab 3 Game Edition has been spotted, which brings together the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and the new GamePad together in one box, to give users everything they need to start gaming. Included too, is an HDMI adapter that will allow players to hook up their Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 to their TV, connect to the Galaxy Tab over Bluetooth and game like it were an OUYA or something similar.

While something like this could easily be seen as a gimmicky bundle from Samsung, it does make sense. For one thing, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is one of the better Galaxy Tabs out right now and offers a decent compromise between specs and price, with the ability to play the majority of top-tier Android games more than competently. For another, the GamePad is a new product and with these controllers having yet to prove themselves, this is a good way to get new customers to try them out right away.

Right now, it looks like the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Game Edition is only destined for Europe, much like the GamePad controller itself but, we’re sure Samsung doesn’t want to miss out on the American market. With devices like the MOGA already making a name for themselves, Samsung is already a little late but, not late enough to be irrelevant. Android 4.3 paved the way for better quality games and bundles like this one should sell relatively well if it’s priced properly. With the GamePad itself costing €79 in Europe, it doesn’t look like this is going to be cheap but, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 can be bought off of Amazon for $250 so, we’d be very surprised if this hits the US for more than $300. Hopefully, Samsung will have some more news to share with us regarding a worldwide launch.
