The Google Zeitgeist 2013 Shows us the Top 100 Searches of 2013 – #21 was the Google Nexus 5!

Google does this every year, they release the stats of the most search topics in the year. It’s the Google Zeitgeist 2013. Google has a dedicated website to showing off all of these top searches from the past 12 months. And I could literally spend hours there looking at some of the most talked about or researched topics of the year. Some of these topics are obvious and others are not so obvious. Of course, the #1 searched topic was Nelson Mandella who passed away recently. Paul Walker’s death also made the top 100, sitting at #2.

Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, the most searched technology term was the iPhone 5S at #3. While the most searched about Android term was the Samsung Galaxy S4 at #8. As we mentioned in the title, the Google Nexus 5 was ranked at #21, which is actually kind of surprising, since normally only us geeks know and/or care about the Nexus. Some of the others on the list include Blackberry 10 ranked at #86, the HTC One at #55, and the Galaxy Note 3 at #92. Some of these topics are actually kind of surprising, some aren’t. But it is fun to go through this dedicated website that Google has and see what’s there. It makes you remember some of the things that happened this year, that you may have forgotten. For example, I forgot Blackberry 10 was announced this year. Surprisingly, there was nothing even related to Google I/O or Microsoft’s BUILD Conference. Only Apple’s developer conference, which was iOS 7, which actually made the top 10.

You can check out all the search terms from the Google Zeitgeist 2013 here, and we’ve got the video from the site down below for those that are interested.
