More HTC M8 Rumors and Leaks, Possible February Announcement?

We all know that  HTC is working on the successor to the successful HTC One. Well, we hope they are as it’s coming up on being a year old. As the HTC One was announced back in February of this year. The device we’ve seen leaked lately, that we believe is the HTC One (2014) or HTC Two, or whatever they decide to call it, is the HTC M8. For now, we are just going to call it the M8 until we know for sure what HTC is going to call it.

As far as specs go, the M8 is expected to feature the same durable premium aluminum body that the HTC One has, along with a 4MP UltraPixel camera and dual stereo speakers. So it doesn’t sound like much of an upgrade just yet. However it will jump from a 4.7-inch 1080p display to a 5-inch 1080p display. It’ll also have Android 4.4 and Sense 6.0. As far as the processor, we’re looking at the Snapdragon 800, looks like the Snapdragon 805 may not be available in time for this HTC M8’s release. It’s actually a more powerful variant than the one we see in the LG G2, Galaxy Note 3, Nexus 5 and other devices. It’s the MSM8974AB, and the AB on the end is what signifies the upgrade. Which does result in higher clock speed, faster memory bandwidth and more capable graphics.

As far as release goes, we’re thinking an announcement just before Mobile World Congress. Similar to last year. This way it’ll be released before Samsung releases the Galaxy S5. Which rumors suggest a January/February announcement, but I don’t really believe those at this point. It’s more likely that Samsung will announce their flagship after Mobile World Congress, which means sometime in March with release (at least in the US) around April or May.
