We’ve been hearing about a Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet for quite a while. Dating back at least 6 months ago. At one point, we thought Samsung would announce it alongside the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA in September. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Now we’re hearing rumors that Samsung is going to announce the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite between CES and Mobile World Congress, as well as a Galaxy Note Pro. Which most of us are assuming it’s the 12.2-inch tablet we’ve seen hit the FCC, the Bluetooth SIG and leaked multiple times. The specs that were rumored for this tablet was a 2560×1600 resolution display, Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.3GHz processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Along with a 8MP camera on the back and a 2MP front-facing shooter. We’re also expecting Android 4.3 out of the box, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Android 4.4 – KitKat available out of the box either.
We’ve seen plenty of renders of the Galaxy Note Pro already, on Friday there was a report (translated via Google Translate) published showing us the back of the device. Perhaps Samsung was showing it off at some event this week. The report also says that it’ll be running Android 4.4 out of the box, which I’m actually not surprised to hear. As Samsung has been using the latest version of Android on their last two launches. The Galaxy S4 launched on Android 4.2.2 and Galaxy Note 3 on Android 4.3. This same report also notes that the battery will be a 9500mAh battery. So we should see some pretty good battery out of this bad boy. Keep in mind that the Nexus 10 has a 9000mAh battery, and it gets amazing battery life, but it doesn’t have the same size display as the Galaxy Note Pro, or all the features this tablet will have. I’d still expect pretty good battery life though.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see this announced at CES next month. However that’s not confirmed. As always take all of this with a grain of salt until we can get some confirmation.
