Lightening Amazon Deal: Samsung ARM Chromebook for $199

Today, Amazon is doing their normal lightening deals. Which we all know and love. But they have something rather cool up for grabs right now. There’s the Samsung Chromebook, you know the ARM version that was released last  year. It’s normally around $249 or higher, based on availability. Right now it’s on sale for $199. The Samsung Chromebook includes a 11.6-inch 1366×768 resolution display, Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD storage, 2 USB ports (1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0) along with a HDMI Port. It also supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n.

I actually own the Samsung Chromebook, and have owned it for about a year now. While it’s not my first choice for a Chromebook, it’s still a very capable one, especially for only $199. Although I’d still pick up the Acer C720-2848 that’s the same price, purely because of the insane battery life the Haswell chip offers, which is in the Acer C720. But if you’ve been wanting an ARM-based Chromebook, this is your only choice. The Samsung Chromebook does allow for free shipping and Amazon Prime’s free 2-day shipping. But you’ll have to hurry if you want this Chromebook, at the time of writing this, you only have about 2 hours left to grab this deal.

Remember that Chromebooks are basically just the Chrome browser, while some will argue it runs web apps so it’s more than just a browser, well web apps do run in the browser as well. So if you can’t live with a laptop that is literally just a browser, then the Chromebook may not be for you. But nothing is stopping you from checking one out, now is it? If you decide to pick up this Chromebook, be sure to let us know in the comments below how you like it.
