Google Glass is all the rage. Although confined to a small group of people globally(upwards of 10,000), its popularity has risen through the roof with Communities on Google+ stuffed full of fans and people that actually own Glass alike. Google has always been great about updates with their devices, and their popular Google Glass won’t break the mold here. Since they have put Glass into the hands of the selected lucky few, updates have been rolling out every month to make sure things with Glass stay in tip top shape. That is of course, until now.
Google is apparently halting the updates for Google Glass in January, and opting to skip that month instead. So updates to Glass will continue starting February, with more monthly updates going forward from that point on. The most recent updates to Google Glass have been the XE12 update, and the ios app for Google Glass which isn’t an update at all really, but does update the functionality of Glass on ios devices.
The MyGlass App for ios had previously arrived on the Apple app store prior to today, but because the XE12 update hadn’t actually arrived yet, the app was pulled rather quickly. It has obviously since come back and is now available, and in regards to both the ios My Glass App and the XE12 update itself, Google referred to them in the following statement on the Google Glass G+ page.

Since Google went through the trouble to put out the XE12 update along with the ios My Glass App, it would seem this is their reasoning for pushing the monthly updates back to February, as they are considering the XE12 update as updates for both the months of December and January. It sure has been a busy week over at Google, and with all that XE12 has brought those who use and own a pair of Glass, we still can’t help but wonder what the next update will bring in the coming months ahead.
