Motorola Introduces Motorola Buds – The Bluetooth Collar for Humans

Last night, or early this morning depending on where you are in the world. Motorola unveiled their newest product. However, unlike the Moto X and Moto G, these were not made for us. It’s the Motorola Buds, which is a Bluetooth headphone collar. Motorola is looking to venture into a market that few companies have ever ventured into before. This time animals get to share the same luxuries that we have enjoyed for years, one of them is HD audio on the go.

Okay, technically they are for adults or humans. But it’s kind of weird, wouldn’t you agree? Based on the pictures from Motorola’s product page, it looks like the color just sits on your neck and you put the earbuds in your ears. It’s kind of odd to me, but they are bluetooth, so when you aren’t using them they can just hang on your neck. It’s going to be interesting to see how well these sell. They are on sale for $79.99 from Motorola, however they are “Out of Stock” right now. So I’m guessing they aren’t quite ready for sale yet. As I don’t think they sold that many already.

Motorola is touting that the Motorola Buds can last about 10 hours before needing a recharge. Of course, that’s 10 hours of usage. Standby time is rated at about 17 days. So not bad at all. It also has magnetic attraction. Where there are magnets secure the buds to the collar to prevent tangling. Easy-to-reach, dedicated controls also let you listen to music and take calls without needing to touch your device.

You can check out the video below for more about the Motorola Buds. I’m not too sure about these. I’m not sure they’ll sell too well, but I guess it’s good to have this option for those that don’t want to keep their earbuds in their ears all day long. How many of you are planning on picking up the Motorola Buds? Let us know in the comments down below.
