Motorola Preparing to start KitKat Soak Test for the DROID Ultra, Mini and Maxx on Verizon

We just got word that Verizon and Motorola are getting ready to start a soak test for the DROID Mini, Maxx and Ultra. Typically a soak test is like a beta test. Motorola will send out the new version of the software (probably KitKat) to those who opted in, to test it out for a couple of days. If everything goes well, then the update will start to roll out to the DROID Mini, Maxx and Ultra in the next few days. So we should see this update hitting everyone within the next week or so. Here’s the email being sent out to those who opted into the Motorola Feedback Network:

Hi,

Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of Droid Ultra, Droid Mini or Droid Maxx on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback. If you are not currently using a Droid Mini, Ultra or Maxx, please excuse and ignore this email.

So we should see Android 4.4 KitKat heading out to the DROID Ultra, Mini and Maxx pretty soon. Which should cap off all the 2013 Motorola devices. There may be another Moto X variant waiting, not 100% sure on that. So once this update is down we should start seeing more of last years phones getting soak tests in the next few weeks. Including the Motorola DROID Razr HD, and DROID Razr Maxx HD. Among others. Motorola has really made a huge turn around in terms of updates, previously we were lucky to even get an update. Now we’re getting them very quickly. Definitely a good thing for Motorola.

How many of you DROID Ultra, DROID Mini, and DROID Maxx owners out there have gotten an email from Motorola’s Feedback network about the soak test? Let us know in the comments below.
