Featured Accessory Review: Urbanears Plattan

We all love checking out some great headphones, over here at Android Headlines. In the past year, I’ve reviewed quite a few headphones and earbuds, but none really come close to the UrbanEars Plattan headphones which we will be talking about today. These headphones are a bit different from the others we’ve reviewed in the past. For one, these are available in a ton of colors. I believe there’s about 15 different colors available. But not only that, they are also not super fancy or anything like that.

Looking at the pictures throughout this review, you’ll notice that they are only red/pink. There’s no huge UrbanEars logo anywhere, although they are there. What’s also nice, is that the top of the headphones, the band, is made of jersey material. So it’s pretty comfortable to use. Especially when compared to those of the Supertooth Freedom’s, which I find start to bother me when I’ve been wearing them for a while. What I also liked about these is that the cable from the headphones into your laptop, phone, tablet, etc., is like a shoe string. Which means it’s a bit more durable than the regular cables we get in headphones like the Griffin Woodtones. The sounds quality on these is pretty good, I wouldn’t say they would compare to anything from Beats Audio or Bose, but definitely better than I expected from UrbanEars.

Now there are a couple things I don’t like about these headphones, and no it’s not the color since it is available in a ton of other colors. But the actual headphones part of these that go over your ears are kind of small. They don’t really go over my ears like a lot of the others have. Now that doesn’t make them terrible headphones, they are just not ones that would be my first choice. I know quite a few people that have these and love them. Having said that, these headphones are very comfortable. I used them all day for about 3-4 days and had no issues with them whatsoever. Sometimes, I even forgot they were on my head. The only thing I wish it had, and you can probably see this coming, is Bluetooth/NFC. As I’ll typically listen to All Access from my phone or tablet, while I’m working, and when i get up to walk away, I don’t need to worry about taking them off or bringing my phone/tablet with me. However with the Urbanears Plattan, I do have too. Other than that, these are great headphones, and I’d say they are worth the $50.

UrbanEars Plattan headphones are available in Black, Dark Grey, Orange, White, Yellow, Clover, Cobalt, Coral, Cream, Grape, Indigo, Mocca, Mustard, Ocean, Olive, Petrol, Pumpkin, Raspberry, Rust, Sage, Teal, and Tomato. So as you can see, I wasn’t kidding when I said there were a ton of colors for the Plattan headphones.

Right now, the UrbanEars Plattan are available from UrbanEars website for $59.90, and currently on Amazon for $50.98. So you can choose where you grab these from. If you are sporting the UrbanEars Plattan headphones, be sure to let us know how you are enjoying them in the comments below.
