Description: Farm Fest is a new game for Android that focuses on the happenings around your local farmyard. There’s no technology here and everything is done as it would have been in the olden days, which creates 80 puzzling levels that will test your farming skills. Combining the best of management games with a little from puzzle games, Farm Fest has a lot to offer players both old and young. While it’s clear that Farm Fest will appeal more to the younger audience, it’s still fun for those of all ages. Utilizing a simple and easy to use interface, it’s a great game to pickup and play and anybody could quickly learn how to play.
How it Works: To start your adventure at the helm of your own farm, you’ll need to download Farm Fest from the Play Store, after that you’re ready to play.
The levels are broken up into different sections, to unlock the others you’ll need to complete the first levels before you can move on.
When you first start playing, Farm Fest will guide you through what to do and how to progress through the level.
Things start off relatively simple, mostly dealing with small produce such as eggs but, things soon speed up and you’ll be dealing with more animals as well as how to sell your produce at the local market.
Soon though, you’ll have a full farm and you’ll have to deal with defending your animals from boars and everything.
At the end of each level, you’re given an update on how well you’ve done.
There are even achievements for you to work toward.
Opinion: Farm Fest is an interesting type of game for Android, it makes great use of the touch screen and it’s easy to use but, it’s a little different from similar games of this nature. For one thing, the emphasis is on completing tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible, rather than building up a farm to be proud of a la Farmville. No matter what though, it’s a lot of fun and it’s super-easy to pickup and play, without prior knowledge. The fact that there’s little technology used on the farm is a nice touch for younger players, as it educates them on the natural balance that these farms maintain within nature.
Ratings
- Speed (4/5) – The pacing of Farm Fest is great, it’s not so fast that players won’t be able to keep up and it’s not too slow that players will get fed up of it either.
- Features (4/5) – Blending elements of world-building games with puzzle games is a nice touch and it does work quite well indeed.
- Theme (4/5) – Everything looks cute and approachable when playing the game and it keeps up with lots of animals on the screen at the same time, but a few more backdrops would be nice.
- Overall (4/5) – Farm Fest is a solid offering for players of all ages and while it could do with a little more flare, it’s a great start.

Conclusion: When playing Farm Fest, it’s obvious that this is a game that’s aimed at the younger audience but, that’s not a bad thing and in fact makes for a very approachable game overall. It’s easy to start playing and if you’ve only got a few minutes to play, this is a game that allows you to do that. With some added graphical flare, the game would look much better but, the animals are cute and fun to look at, even if they aren’t 100% accurate representations. Farm Fest is a simple game that offers a lot for players to get through, with 80 levels and different challenges to overcome. If you’re looking for something a little different, then Farm Fest is a worth a try.
