Seems like Samsung has a tablet and smartphone for everyone and everything. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 for Education is the newest addition. The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 wasn’t all that interesting of a device when it was launched in early 2013. It had some pretty mediocre specs, but it was also relatively cheap for a 10-inch tablet. Now Samsung is relaunching the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 as an educational tablet. Which they’ve done before with the Galaxy Tab 2 and the original Galaxy Tab.
The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 for Education has a 10.1-inch WXGA display (which is a 1280×800 resolution), along with 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. There’s a 3.15MP camera on the back and a 1.3MP shooter on the front. It’s also powered by the Intel Atom Z2560 processor which is a dual-core clocked at 1.6GHz. Topping it all off, it’s got a 6800mAh battery inside powering it all day long.
Samsung has included the Google Play for Education store on the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and it is running Android 4.4 – Kitkat. The Google Play for Education gives educators access to a wide selection of teacher-approved apps, books, and videos, which helps them deliver more engaging and personalized learning to each student. Teachers are also able to search for content by grade, subject and standard, make purchases using a pre-loaded school PO rather than a credit card and deliver content to students’ tablets in a matter of seconds.
The Korean manufacturer is hoping to get plenty of these Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 for Education tablets into schools before the next academic year, 2014-2015. Which is possible since it is only January. It’s great to see more technology get into the schools these days. It definitely helps your kids learn more and better. Which technology is definitely the future. It’d also be nice to see Android tablets instead of iPads in schools.
