HP Chromebook 11 Finally Shows up on Google Play in Canada for $299 – Still Coming Soon in the US

After a few delays, like recalls for the defective AC adapter, Google and HP have finally straightened out the HP Chromebook 11 and has it on sale on Google Play now in Canada at least for $299, it should be landing on the US Play Store soon for $279. The $279 Chromebook from HP and Google is a little different from many of the others we’ve covered here at Android Headlines. As this one charges via microUSB, and can be charged by many of the external battery packs out there. Which is a nice addition to have. Especially for those that are always travelling.

The HP Chromebook 11 comes in all black, or white with a blue, red, yellow or green trim around the keyboard. It’s actually a really nice looking Chromebook. It’s sporting a 11.6-inch IPS display that’s 300 nit, and has a 176-degree viewing angle. It’s also got a VGA webcam on the front, with a nice keyboard and great trackpad. Along with 2 USB 2.0 ports, and a microUSB port for charging and a SlimPort for video out. It’s running the Exynos 5250 processor, which is dual-core and the same processor found in the current generation Nexus 10. As far as dimensions go it’s 297 x 192 x 17.6 mm. And weighs about 2.3 pounds.

This doesn’t have one of Intel’s Haswell chips inside, so it’s likely not going to give you as good of battery life as the Acer C720, but it should still last around 5-6 hours. Remember that it comes with 100GB of free Google Drive storage as well as 12 free sessions of GoGo InFlight internet, and 2-month free trial for Google Play Music All Access. Which I think is a pretty good deal for a $299 or $279 depending on where you live, Chromebook.

Like we said the HP Chromebook 11 is now live on the Canadian Play Store and should be live rather soon on the US Play Store. Who’s planning on picking it up?
