It’s almost that time of year, time for HTC to release their 2014 flagship device. We aren’t sure what they are going to call it yet, so we’ve just been calling it the HTC One Successor, since I don’t really like the ring to “HTC One Two” and I’m sure most of you agree. On Thursday, @Evleaks leaked out some of the specs for the new HTC flagship device, which is codenamed the M8. It includes a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. Along with a 5.0-inch 1080p display. Which will probably be a Super LCD display. Along with 2GB of RAM, an UltraPixel camera on the back, and a 2.1MP camera on the front. It’ll support WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac networks as well as launch with Android 4.4 KitKat and Sense 6.0.
The specs line up with what we were expecting. Although I’d love to see the Snapdragon 805 in the HTC One’s successor, but it may not be ready in time for their flagship to launch. I really hope that HTC does up the pixel count on the UltraPixel camera. As much as I actually liked the camera, many others didn’t like it, especially when not taking pictures in low-light conditions. And I think if they jumped up to a 8MP UltraPixel camera, it would be a much better option for everyone out there. We here at Android Headlines were big fans of the HTC One, and some of us are big fans of HTC in general. I’m hoping they come out with a great device in 2014.
We don’t know for sure when HTC is announcing their flagship, but I’m sure it’ll be between CES and Mobile World Congress, and likely to have their own event. Last year, HTC announced the One about a week before Mobile World Congress which takes place the last week of February every year. So we should see plenty more leaks of this device rather soon. How many of you are excited for the next HTC One?
