Samsung has filed for a patent for a tablet cover, which judging by the pictures that accompanied the patent application, it appears to be for the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. The folks over at MovePlayer have published several pictures from a patent that Samsung filed with Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) in South Korea on August 13. Samsung was awarded the patent on November 20th. This patent describes the new cover for tablets that can transform into a dock capable to sustain the weight of the device.
There are actual pictures showing the tablet and cover, in the patent application. The device in the images seems to be really close in resemblance to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, which Samsung announced at IFA back in September of 2013. The images also appear to be showing that the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has a USB 3.0 connector on board. Which we saw on the Galaxy Note 3 when that was announced in September as well. The USB 3.0 connector allows your device to charge pretty quickly, that along with the Snapdragon 800’s quick charge allowed the Galaxy Note 3 to charge really fast. Which is something we won’t complain about.
We’ve been seeing more leaks, and rumors as well as FCC certifications for the device that we believe is the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. Which generally means that the announcement is coming real soon. We also heard that Samsung is looking to announce 4 tablets between CES and Mobile World Congress, which that time-frame spans about 6 weeks. So it’s entirely possible that we’ll see the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 launch at CES this week. Samsung does have a press conference on Monday, which we’ll be covering. Right now we’re only expecting to see a few new processors and a few wearables. But Samsung could toss in a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. Would you be interested in buying the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2?
