There probably aren’t many of you out there still looking for an Android phone with a physical keyboard. But I know there are a few die-hard Blackberry fans who want that QWERTY keyboard on their phone. We haven’t seen any really in the past couple of years running on Android, however Evleaksleaked out the Optimus F3Q today, which appears to have one.
Now the Optimus F3Q isn’t new at all, we’ve actually seen it leak out a few times already. However, it appears to basically be the Optimus F3, which was announced at Mobile World Congress last year, with a new physical keyboard. It’s believed to be heading to T-Mobile on January 22nd, which is the day after the Xperia Z1s officially launches on T-Mobile. Now I wouldn’t expect a huge announcement from T-Mobile about the Optimus F3Q because it’s really not a high-end device, so we’ll probably just see a press release announcing that it’s available in stores and online. If this does turn out to be true.
The picture shown above, is said to be the “final” design render, according to Evleaks. Who also has some more detailed specs. These specs include a 4-inch 800×480 resolution display, 5MP camera on the back, dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, Android 4.1.2, 2460mAh battery and 4G LTE. Evleaks didn’t tell us how much RAM to expect in here, but judging by the fact that this is essentially just an Optimus F3, and the F3 does have 1GB of RAM, I’m thinking that’s what we’ll be seeing in here.
It definitely isn’t a mind-blowing device, especially looking at that display. Although I would have liked to see it running Android 4.4 KitKat. But for those that I think would be interested in this device, Android 4.1.2 is plenty for them. There’s no official word on pricing or availability, but I’d expect it to go for $0 down and around $10-13/month. Perhaps even less. How many of you are looking for an Android phone with a full QWERTY physical keyboard?
