Motorola's Helping Google Sell More Chromecasts, Offering all Off-Contract Moto X Orders a Free Chromecast

Motorola started out 2014 by lowering the price of the off-contract Moto X to just $399 for the 16GB and $449 for the 32GB. Now Motorola is adding onto that amazing deal. Motorola announced today that they are giving out Chromecasts for free to those who purchase an off-contract Moto X. This promotion runs until January 14th, to anyone who buys an off-contract Moto X through Motorola’s website. This is a great sale, given that the Chromecast normally costs $35, which is an insane price anyways for what it can do, giving it away for free is even crazier.

The Chromecast is one of my favorite technology purchases of 2013, alongside the Moto X. Putting those two together is a great idea from Motorola. Although, I think this is part of Google’s larger plan to get the Chromecast into more hands. Google has already told us that they have big plans for the Chromecast in 2014 including more Chromecast devices, and we’ve already seen more apps hit the Chromecast scene in the past month or so. We also know that the new WWE app when it gets updated to support the WWE Network will also support Chromecast, for those WWE fans out there.

The Moto X is a great device as well, it’s my phone of choice right now, and I can’t express how much I love this phone. I have to say it’s one of the best all around phones I’ve had in quite some time. So it’s definitely a great purchase, even though it’s about 6 months old now. If you’re looking to pick up a Moto X between now and January 14th, you can head over to Motorola’s website and choose your’s today. You’ll just need to enter the promo code ‘STREAM’ at checkout to get your Chromecast for free.
