Hot on the heels of Nvidia’s latest mobile chipset announcement comes something that might resonate a little more closely with gamers in the immediate future: Nvidia certified streaming devices. These devices will aid you in choosing the right router, gaming PC and other gaming accessory to perfect your gaming experience. Those who have tried streaming games to their Nvidia Shield with a cut-rate router know just how difficult it can be. Running a game at the full 1080p and at 60 frames per second isn’t exactly easy on network bandwidth, and requires a pretty hefty router to keep things moving without any slowdown or lag. Of course the PC that powers the whole experience is just as important, and if you’re not running on the latest 700 series of Nvidia cards you might not be playing at optimal levels.
Nvidia has certified exactly 1 dozen dual-band AC routers that are worthy of being called stream perfect. Then of course there are the half-dozen system builders that are up to the task of crafting the perfect gaming PC for you to stream your games with, powered by Nvidia’s GeForce GTX cards. Then of course there’s Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, GRID, that lets you play games straight from Nvidia’s server farms all without even having to own a PC that runs said games. Of course the Nvidia Certified page also has things like certified headsets, controllers and streaming accessories so your friends can watch you play on Twitch or any other live streaming service. Let’s also not forget that Amazon has the Nvidia Shield for $249 right now, which is a cool $50 less than the usual MSRP of the device. That’ll get you streaming to anywhere in the vicinity of your computer, all without having to hog the TV or monitor for your marathon gaming sessions.
