More Pictures of a Red Nexus 5 Pop Up, Play Store Launch Imminent?

So last week, we saw a very questionable video that showed us there might be more colors of the Nexus 5 coming. Many people thought it was fake, and with good reason. However, today@artyomstar shared some pictures on Twitter of the Red Nexus 5 box. And it looks pretty legit to me. I know they could still have photoshopped it, but it looks pretty legit over here.

In the video that leaked out last week, we saw the Nexus 5 in black, white, purple, brown, red, yellow, and blue. Which I’d love to see a Nexus 5 in purple. But nevertheless, it looks like this may have been true. But the thing is, when will it be available? Especially with what we heard this morning about Google dropping the Nexus program in favor of the Google Play Edition devices in 2015. Which I have mixed feelings about, but that’s for another post.

Currently, the Nexus 5 is only available in black and white. Or as some say, black and Pandaphone. The Nexus 5 is available for $349 for the 16GB and $399 for the 32GB. Which is a pretty great price, especially for what you’re getting here. The Nexus 5 has a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 2300mAh battery inside, along with LTE support for T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint. There’s also a Snapdragon 800 processors inside along with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. It’s actually a pretty nice looking device as well. It looks like a mini Nexus 7 (2013), which I quite like.

So could we see colored Nexus 5’s soon? Who knows, but it sure will be interesting to see the Nexus 5 come in more colors. It’ll be the closest thing to MotoMaker that the Nexus 5 will get, in my opinion. How many of you are looking for a red Nexus 5? Or a purple Nexus 5? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
