The slide-out keyboard is almost a thing of the past, save for Blackberry’s determined efforts to keep it alive. Most people have forgotten about it by now, as the popular phones of this generation have shed them for high-definition touchscreens that essentially take up the entire front of the phone. However, there are some people (I know a few) that will hang on to that physical keyboard for dear life, and go down with the ship, so to speak, to make sure they can always have one. Thanks to LG’s rumored mid-range device, people might not need to do that anymore.
Dubbed the F3Q, this device has been hinted at in a calendar that had been leaked for T-Mobile. It specified that the LG F3Q would launch alongside Sony’s Z1S, and although the validity of the calendar isn’t confirmed, we do know that T-Mobile has already announced the Z1S will in fact come to T-Mobile’s stores on the 22nd of January. That leads us to believe that this calendar is somewhat accurate and – at the very least – can confirm that LG’s new slider exists.
However, we did say it was a mid-ranged device, and that is (unfortunately) true. The device won’t be featuring the high-end specs that we’ve come to love in this day and age. While there are no official specs just yet, rumor has it that the new device is related to the LG Optimus F3. That means we are looking at an unknown 1.2GHz Dual-Core Chipset, with 1GB of RAM and a somewhere around a 4-inch display with a resolution of 480-800.
Specs like that are not close to breaking records, but the good news is that – if you’re in the market for a new smartphone, or maybe you’re looking for your first, and you don’t want to break the bank, this might be a great option for you. While there isn’t mention of what version of Android it will be running, these specs won’t be terrible if it has any version of Kitkat installed on it; the lower system requirements will help it run smoothly, which is precisely what Google was hoping for. But we’ll see what happens! Interested in this device?! Let us know below!
