Samsung is already planning to release a ton of smartphones and tablets this year. Even more than last year, which they announced and released a lot in 2013. The latest one to be leaked is the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo. It has curved corners and the Duos branding. It’s pretty similar to the Galaxy Grand, and according to the SammyHubtipster, the Galaxy Grand Neo is expected to come with a 5-inch 800×480 resolution capacitive display. Along with being powered by a 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor and running on Android 4.3 – Jelly Bean. Of course it’s going to have Samsung’s Touchwiz UI on top.
The other specs that we’d be interested in, have not yet surfaced. But specs of the Galaxy Grand Lite leaked recently, and also passed through the FCC, confirmed Dual SIM support and a 2100mAh battery. So far the specs of the Galaxy Grand Neo and the Galaxy Grand Lite look pretty familiar. So the Galaxy Grand Neo could in fact be the real name of the device, and sport the model number GT-I9060.
From the image above, we can only see the front of the phone, which looks like any other Samsung phone. With the big physical home button at the center of the bottom along with the menu and back capacitive keys on either side of the home button. I’m kind of surprised this isn’t running Android 4.4 – KitKat. But perhaps, Samsung is saving KitKat for their Galaxy S5 launch sometime around February/March. Who knows, although it would have been nice to see KitKat available on the Galaxy Grand Neo and the other smartphones Samsung is announcing this year.
I don’t really expect to see Samsung announce any phones at CES next week. As they typically talk about appliances, flexible displays and their new Exynos chip. But hey they could surprise us and announce a bunch of these Lite and Pro devices we’ve been hearing about lately. Is anyone actually interested in the Galaxy Grand Neo?
