Tinke Bringing Health Tracking Wirelessly To Android Through Various Sensors

In Las Vegas, Zensorium, is showing off some of their wellness sensors at CES. They say that the best time to track your fitness is when you’re at rest and your body isn’t keyed up. With the Tinke sensor device, which is available for both Android and iOS devices, users are able to keep constant track of their respiratory rate, blood oxygen level, heart rate, and heart rate variability. Tinke has been available for iOS for a few years already, the sensor is indeed new for Android. The iOS version does plug into the iPhone and iPads, however the Android version connects wirelessly via Bluetooth. Which explains the $10 increase over the iOS version. The Android version of the Tinke will be priced at $129.

Tinke is activated to touch, users hold their fingers on the device for 30 seconds and it quickly measures the four health metrics. The company says that it is best used everyday, in order to keep steady track of your health progress. It also states that the best time to do the measuring is in the morning, prior to any exercise. Additionally, that is one of it’s key differentiators. Many Many health trackers are meant to be used during exercise. But Tinke was designed to be used to track how someone is doing over time, not just when they’re working out. The device does sync data to the mobile app, which allows users to see how they are doing and to track their personal progress over a time frame. It will also provide health baselines so that users can see how they should be doing, fitness-wise at least.

At this point, Tinke is not integrating with any other health devices or apps, but the company has stated they are looking into integration in the future. There was no word on availability. But since they did announce pricing, I’d expect it to be available in Q1 2014. But that’s just speculation.
