We recently reviewed the G Pad here at Android Headlines and overall, we were very happy with it. Of course, LG’s software still isn’t to everyone’s liking, but with a Google Play Edition and some decent custom ROMs out there, there’s something for everyone on the G Pad. Now, we have an accessory review for the G Pad 8.3 and it’s from VOIA, a Korean accessory maker for mostly Samsung and LG devices. Here, we’re taking a look at the “premium pouch”, which we’re going to call a sleeve, because that’s what it is. Either way, it’s a simulated leather material and is built specifically for the G Pad 8.3.
The one we have is black, which I chose to contrast with my white model, but there are a number of different colors available. In total, there are six color choices available, ranging from black, brown and red to white, yellow and green. I think most people would agree with me when I say that the hues of the VOIA sleeve are “typically Korean”, which is certainly a bad thing at all. In fact, it makes your G Pad stand out and the yellow and green options are a welcome color pop.
The design of the sleeve itself is pretty straightforward. It’s a typical slip-in, slip-out sort of sleeve and it works well. There’s a soft lining where the display of the device rests and I’m not worried about the screen getting scratched or anything like that. With the LG logo and the top of the device sticking out is a little bizarre, but it does add to the overall look and feel to it. I like the way the black sleeve contrasts against my white model and those with the black model might feel the same with a white sleeve.
VOIA also have some other G Pad accessories, including a folding style case with auto wake features and a typical silicon case. You can pick those, as well as this leather sleeve up from Amazon here in the US. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
