The race to become the biggest and baddest carrier continues between the four major U.S. carriers T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and At&t, but FreedomPop isn’t necessarily concerned with any of that. They’re content with simply offering customers the ability to have potentially the lowest rate plan offering they’ll ever own. This new plan from FreedomPop is available for as little as $4.58 per month which is astounding, although it does come with certain conditions to receive it at that extremely low price. No there is no annual contract to sign, so you can feel comfortable knowing that you aren’t tied to a carrier if this plan shouldn’t work for you. However, to get the $4.58 a month price, you do have to pay the full two year commitment amount upfront, which is $110. So while you have no contract and you’re free to leave the carrier whenever you wish, you’ll be doing so knowing that you lost out on some of that money you put down as a one time payment for the two years of service.
This isn’t the only option that customers can pick for this plan, as there are options for the one year up front payment or the regular month to month pricing. If you don’t want to put down the $110 that gets you service for the next two years, you can choose to pay the amount for a year up front, which will end up costing you a one time payment of $79.99. This isn’t as bad but it only saves you $30, and you get a whole years worth less of service coverage so what’s the point? If neither of those options sound good, you can do the simple month to month payments, but then the plans pricing jumps to $10.99, Which in all honesty isn’t that bad at all when you compare it to other month-to-month low cost rate plans.
What does this plan get you? Well for one time payment of either $110, $79.99 or the month-to-month payments of $10.99, you get unlimited talk and text, and of course the added features of voicemail which is a must have for most people, and it also comes with 500MB of data included. The data amount isn’t a lot but some people rarely use their data simply because they don’t browse much on their phones, or they have WiFi in most places where they spend their time. So if you fit that bill this plan might be just what you need if you’re looking for a month to month plan that can save you some cash. FreedomPop is also offering up a great deal on the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S II for their network(which is an extremely old phone but it only costs $169 off contract), or you can bring in your phone if you wish.
