Otterbox has become very popular for their spectacular cases. They may not make the best looking cases for Smartphones and tablets, but they do make the most durable ones. Otterbox was kind enough to send us the Otterbox Defender for the LG G Flex, which we’re taking a look at today. This one protects everything on the LG G Flex. It comes in three parts. There’s the back and front which are both in plastic. The front also has a built in screen protector. Then there’s the TPU-like cover that goes on the back. Then there is also the holster for the G Flex. Which I actually think looks really cool for the LG G Flex since it’s curved like the device.
As usual the Defender is a bit difficult to put on the device, but that is actually a good thing, as it means it’ll provide great protection for your device. Now the Defender case does add quite a bit of bulk to an already pretty big device. I did do a small drop test with the case (didn’t want to do too much damage since the LG G Flex is a review unit), and dropping it did not make the case pop off, and the case didn’t even have any damage, which is pretty good. And that’s what we’ve come to expect from Otterbox with their cases. The built-in screen protector on the Defender does feel a bit weird, when using your LG G Flex, but no less weird than when you’re using a screen protector you put on the device yourself. So there’s that.
There’s not much else to say about the Otterbox Defender case for the LG G Flex. The Otterbox Defender is available for $60 from both Otterbox and Amazon. Which is a pretty good price for what the Defender does, and that’s protect your phone from drops, spills and more. Many of you may have used an Otterbox case in the past.
